It has been a while since I last wrote.
We went to the Atlantic City Boat Show and had a tiring but educational day.
We've done a little work on cleaning up our boat, BUT.....
The real reason for my writing now is that we finally have a name for our boat.
From this day forward and until the seas take her back, she will be known as Nepidae.
Nepidae is the family in which the water scorpion belongs.
Jane was thinking one day that since we are both born under the Scorpio sign and we both love the water that there should be a name which incorporates each.
A little internet searching and voila, Nepidae.
We are pronouncing it Nep a day.
The documentation has started, it was held up for a name, and the decal with the name for the stern will be made shortly.
I'll be back later to fill in the missing info.
But for now, meet Nepidae.

It looks like we are going to the Atlantic City Boat Show on Saturday, 2/5/11.
It will be the first Boat Show in a long period of time for me, so long I almost don't remember going and I certainly don't remember anything specifically about going, only that I 'think' I did go and for Jane, I don't know that she has ever gone to one, but my guess is no.
We, Jane & I, will make a day of it and see if there is anything at a great price that we need for Our Boat that might be available there.
I'll be meeting with Ed, who is doing work on Our Boat, to discuss a few items that we can then look for at the Show. One item is a battery charger-inverter, so we can languish on the hook and still play our favorite music and have the refrigerator for our cold libations.
Another item we need is an anchor windlass and an anchor for languishing on the hook. Not sure about the windlass although that could be a Tigress by Lofrans and I'm thinking about a 44# Rocna anchor. I have a printouts from West Marine so I'll be comparing prices.
There are a few other items, but I'll write about what we got after we come back.
Who knows, it might be a bust for what we are looking for but as always, if I get to spend some time with my girl, Jane not Our Boat, (although a day with Our Boat is nice too) then it's a great day.
One of the things I want to accomplish on the trip to and from the Boat Show, is to see if we can come up with a name for Our Boat. So we'll tackle that as well.
